Laboratory testing serves the verification or development of the most suitable method for treatment of contaminated matrix leading to the removal of pollutant or to lowering of the contamination level beneath the acceptable limit.

The EPS, s.r.o. company performs laboratory experiments in the realm of biology research (biostimulation and bioaugmentation under aerobic or anaerobic conditions) and in the realm of physicochemical research (soil-washing by surfactants or ISCO). Within these experiments, the efficacy of applied reagents on the mobilisation or removal of target pollutant from the contaminated matrix is investigated. An integral part of these experiments is the optimum reagent concentration determination, inspection of the impact on local site's conditions, and the application protocol optimisation.
Most frequently tested ISCO reagents are: hydrogen peroxide, Fenton's reagent, modified Fenton's reagent, persulphate, and permanganate.

The EPS, s.r.o company conducted the laboratory testing and technology optimisation in the following selected projects:
  • Laboratory verification and optimisation of the ISCO technology for application at the grounds of actively producing petrochemical plant (Unipetrol, RPA, s.r.o.),
  • Laboratory verification - biostimulation and bioaugmentation at the Přerov airport (oil hydrocarbons), CARGO Břeclav (chlorinated hydrocarbons)
